Petra Hrebackova Biography

Petra Hrebackova was born in Prague in 1976. Taking after her father (Tomáś Hlavićka) and grandfather (Pavel Hlava), she followed an artistic path. She attended the Secondary School of Ceramic in Bechyně from 1990–1994. Hrebackova received Gold Prize,”DECORATIVE TILE 91“ Ceramics Factory , Rakovnik in 1991.From 1994–96 Petra attended the Institute of Art Culture, J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (Ceramic and Porcelain Studio). She went to the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (Ceramic and Porcelain Studio) from 1996–2002.

Petra Hrebackova was awarded Honorable Mention at theInternational Ceramics Festival, Mino, Japan in 2005. She’s been published in 2007 Ceramic and Glass, June, Czech Republic, 2005 Ceramic and Glass, January, Czech Republic, 2004 Fusion Magazine, April, Ontario, Canada and 2000 Czech Design 1995-2000. Hrebackova can be found in museum collections including the Museum of Decorative Arts, Prague, Czech Republic, Museum of Modern Ceramic Art, Gifu, Japan and at the East Bohemian Museum, Pardubice, Czech Republic.
