Thomas Boone

Thomas Boone has always had an artistic calling. Born in Michigan in 1945, He earned a BFA in Industrial Design from the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. During that time he worked at a local art gallery which got his mind thinking about the possibilities of opening his own one day. After graduation he started putting that vision into action. He along with his then wife Linda Boone and bringing on her brother Ferdinand Hampson as a third partner founded Habatat Galleries in 1971. In 1982 Thomas and Linda Boone decided to open Habatat’s second location relocating to Miami, Florida.  Then in late 1980’s Thomas conceptualized the Gallery Center in Boca Raton where Habatat Galleries spent over 20 years. It was during this time that Mr. Boone decided to pursue his love for painting and also leave Habatat Galleries to open up a new gallery in the same Gallery Center complex called Indigo. He eventually closed Indigo to paint full time.

Thomas Boone’s paintings have been displayed in prominent galleries throughout the country. His work has been featured at SOFA Chicago, Palm Beach 3, Naples Museum of Art, The Los Angeles Art Show, Palm Beach Contemporary and Art Miami. He can be found in the permanent collections of the Ritz Carlton in the Grand Cayman and Jamaica as well at the Nassau County Museum of Art. He has curated and juried for museums such as the Boca Museum of Art, Coral Springs Art Museum, The American Society of Interior Designers, the Norton Museum of Art and the Lowe Museum of Art.
